Disturbing price increase when contract ends

I've just received an email notifying me that my current contract comes to an end next month. What's disturbing/confusing is that it states that at that point the cost of my contract will increase from £30.20 per month to £58.69.

The reason I also say confused is that my renewal options state that if I renew my "unlimited fibre extra" for another 2 years it will cost me £25.99 per month which is less than I currently pay (and would still be less after the March price increase which is quoted everywhere as being £3).

Could someone clarify all the above for me?

Thanks
Andrew

@rabidhadron Simple - if you do not renew your contract, you then pay the 'out-of-contract' price, which will have been advised to you in your initial contract confirmation.

Fix

If you don't renew your contract, you go to a rolling monthly contract at the non-discounted price. If you opt to renew for a further contract period then you get a discounted price for committing to a further period.

Thanks for this, I struggle with mental health issues and this did not come to mind (though it seems obvious to me now).

Again thank you, I will renew my contract with confidence.

Re: Disturbing price increase when contract ends

Is it renewing your "unlimited fibre extra" as you state or is it to go onto "Unlimited Fibre" (I think it is called).  That is a very similar looking product from the broadband side, but doesn't include the telephone part.  The reason for asking is that I wouldn't want you to find you've re-constructed to a product without a landline when you wanted one, and only find out when your phone goes off.

Re: Disturbing price increase when contract ends

I have the same options - £27.49 for 24 months, or the 'without phone' option for £25.99 again for 24 months. I don't need the phone (never used it in the last 7 years) so keen to save a few quid, but would rather a 12 or 18 month contract. Is there a way of getting 'without phone' for 12 or 18 months?

@nimdy

Ring the Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 and ask, be warned, if available it might be slightly more expensive.
