Enable static IP

Good afternoon. I saw some other threads that indicate that enabling static IP from the plusnet account doesn't work. Could someone please enable for me? Thank you

Hi @tpo

I've added this to your account and sent an email to confirm.

Re: Enable static IP

Hi Curtis, thank you very much!

Could the rDNS record creation be skipped? Or could it be removed if it has already been created?

@tpo I don't think you can not have an rDNS record. By default it will be <accountname>.plus.com , however you can request it be changed to either <ipaddress>.plus.com OR anything domain orientated provided you have an identical  forward pointing  A record

Re: Enable static IP

Thanks MisterW, yes that rings a bell from when I was last with Plusnet.

Static IP section says "If you need to change your rDNS settings, please request this through the Help Assistant.", but doesn't say what to request, and then the Help Assistant says questions can't be asked this way anymore.

Could I request that it be set to <IP>.plus.com please (for the next staff member who sees this).

Thanks again

Re: Enable static IP

@tpo  For security reasons you have to reply to the ticket  (question) on your account which should have been raised by @csmith94 earlier.

Log in to your account and use this link to find the ticket

Re: Enable static IP

Thanks for the reply. I may be missing something, but I don't see how I can create a new question, and the one created earlier doesn't seem to have an option to reply (maybe you can't reply to closed questions?). Any ideas?

Re: Enable static IP

@tpo No, you can't reply to a closed 'question' - logical really. What did the email from @csmith94  say?

Re: Enable static IP

It was likely.just confirming the static IP and is closed. There was no request for rdns at the time, it will need another ticket raising by staff
