Final Bill - double contract price

Hi,

Could you please check my account and let me know why my final bill is almost double my original contract price? I've finished my contract and just decided not to renew, I gave you 1 months notice.

I usually pay £29.62 per month.

See below for the summary of the bill.

Thanks

Paul

Fix

Hi @mightypirate and welcome to the forum even though you're leaving! Unfortunately staff have limited time to read these threads and I suggest you give them a call. Renewal and leaving are subjects we hear all the time as the Pnet account system runs amok.

Re: Final Bill - double contract price

@mightypirate

As @Longliner says I suggest you ring Plusnet (possibly the "thinking of leaving" option is the best one). When I got my "sorry you are leaving" letter a couple of weeks ago the ETC amount quoted in that (I am in my final month of a contract) was too high when I followed the link to calculate it for myself. The COT team member immediately noted that  the calculation the system had done was based on my undiscounted prices and he credited an appropriate amount to my account. We shall see what my final bill is when it comes but I am hopeful that it will be a lot nearer the mark.

I note that you appear to have some of of contract prices charged (18 - 26 July?) which will push the bill up from your normal in contract bill but by a lot less than currently totalled. On thing I suspect is that the in contract (27/6 - 7/7) should not be there as that is usually discounted to zero in contract.

Good luck.

@mightypirate If your contract has finished, but you 'decide not to renew', you are charged the out-of-contract price. Why did you decide not to renew?

Re: Final Bill - double contract price

Hi @jab1

I am still within my contract (it ends on the 17th July) I gave my notice to leave on the 17th June, im not renewing because I found a better deal and faster speeds elsewhere - from what I've read on these forums this seems to be a common complaint that your over billed right at the end.

Thanks

Paul

Hi @jgb

Thanks for this, I avoided phoning because last time I was on the hold for 40mins after telling them I was leaving. I'll guess I'll just have to try and call them again! Thanks again for your help.

In that case, I suspect part of the problem is that you told PN you were intending to move - you do not do that, you leave all the arranging to the gaining provider. However, this does not explain the over-complicated invoice you have detailed above. I've seen some weird ones, but that really is a nightmare - even a Bank of England accountant would find it hard to decipher.

Re: Final Bill - double contract price

He he - thanks John. I had to tell them I was moving as I'm switching over to Virgin and they don't arrange a transfer as per their help pages - Ive just phoned them and hopefully should be getting it refunded.

Thanks again

Paul
