Have I been over charged?

Good Afternoon,

I'm a little bit confused about my bill.
My line with plusnet was ceased on the 30th August 2024 and I paid my bill on the 27th August (billing Period 18th August - 18th September). My last paid bill was £42.90, shouldn't this have been less due to me not having services after the 30th August?

I cancelled my direct Debit with plusnet as I had emails and texts advising me I'd be charged for non return of equipment as I was very worried, thankfully this issue has now been resolved. Since I've cancelled my Direct Debit I'm not sure how I'd receive any refund, I assumed this would now have to be done via a cheque.

Thanks.

Re: Have I been over charged?

@Sdb98

You are billed monthly in advance and your bill will have been prepared when the system assumed you would still be connected for the full period. The bill is prepared about 7 days before the billing date.

Now that you have left, Plusnet will issue a final bill (about three weeks after you leave i.e. about 20 September in your case). There should be information about this on you Member Centre and you should get the normal email advising of this final bill. This bill will include refunds any monies due to you (for the period 31 August to 18 September) and charges for any monies due from you (e.g call charges if you use a landline, early termination charges if you left while in contract, etc). This would normally be refunded via your direct debit about a week later, but as you have cancelled the direct debit, Plusnet will refund by cheque as you suggest, but that will take longer.
