Unimpressive offer of an "Upgrade" to Fibre from Unlimited Fibre

There is currently 12 months remaining on my current Plusnet contract of Unlimited Fibre including phone line at £26.97 / month and on my account I see that I've been offered an "upgrade" to Fibre without phone line for £27.99 / month for 2 year contract.

The blurb of the page offering this upgrade states "With broadband only you can say bye to line rental and hello to big savings and big speeds."

I don't need a phone line but the upgrade offer isn't cheaper at all being more expensive than my current contract and the estimated download speed is lower than the estimated download speed for Unlimited Fibre. In fact the snyc rate from my router is 32.3Mbs with an actual download speed of 28.7Mbps as measured by Ookla, and I doubt that switching to fibre will result in any improvement in speeds.

It seems unlikely that full fibre will be available in my area (LU7 3UJ) anytime soon and the only option to get better speeds would be to switch to Virgin Media. To avoid that Plusnet really needs to be making realistic offers.

The big savings aren't for you - they are for Plusnet!
