Activating broadband without engineer visit. Possible?

Hello,

I've received my router and I was meant to have an engineer visit today however, I had to rearrange due to being away. I was hoping to plug my router in and use it but, alas, Plusnet has delayed activation until, I assume, an engineer visit.

My issue is, my work means that I'm not at the property during the week, weekends only and, as far as I'm aware, engineers don't work weekends.

My question is, is there a workaround to this? Can Plusnet activate it for the time being or, can I get an engineer visit on a weekend?

Cheers

@edsterj if you already have a working ONT , then it OUGHT to be possible to remotely activate without an engineer visit. However the Openreach ordering process attempts to test that the ONT is functioning and is the correct one registered to the address. If this check fails, and it often does for some reason, then an engineer visit is required. Hopefully one of the Plusnet help team will see this thread and check if the ONT is functional.

Re: Activating broadband without engineer visit. Possible?

OK thanks.

It says on my account that it's getting activated today and to wait till midnight. I'll see if this happens and go from there.

If not, I suppose I'll have to wait till I can get an engineer round. I did rearrange for the 16th of October via the txt service but, the engineer said (phone call) that this doesn’t always go through. How could I confirm this?

Thanks

Hi @edsterj I've checked your account and it looks like we've rearranged everything for the 9th, would that work for you or do we need to look at moving it? - Adam
