FTTP order dragging on - can I get the Hub 2 sent early?

Hi

I placed an order to upgrade to FTTP back on 1st Feb.

Due to Openreach delays I'm still waiting for the external works to be completed.

I wonder if it is possible to have the Hub 2 sent early so I can set my devices up using my current Plusnet FTTC service?

Regards

Lee

@PowerLee

When you change routers the easiest way to do it is to make the SSID (WiFI ID) and password the same as you currently use.

No need to touch your current devices.

Re: FTTP order dragging on - can I get the Hub 2 sent early?

I was told that the router is normally only sent out when OR give installation date confirmed, and then about a week before.  As you needed extra work that is is why it was not sent automatically.

For future reference of others, just call up and they'll send it out.  Beware though - this is a sign that OR may not be coming when you thought they were.

Hi @PowerLee

Apologies for the ongoing delays- dependant on the nature and the complexity of the external works, it can in some instances take a lenghty period of time to be all wrapped up.

If you private message us your account username, we will gladly get your router sent out.

Thanks

Lee

Re: FTTP order dragging on - can I get the Hub 2 sent early?

@mwwagain - According to Openreach my go live date is 4th April as all the external work has been completed & this is what Openreach told Plusnet 🤣

Unfortunately its not, no new duct installed, no cable & no point on the outside of the house.

I queried this with Plusnet, they queried with Openreach & Openreach are now booked for a second survey tomorrow instead.

Obviously the first survey Openreach carried out, took pictures of the front garden where they then highlighted the planned duct route up to the house which was emailed to me so that I had to sign to agree for Openreach to dig was a waste of time.

I have no issues with Plusnet as they have kept me well informed during the process.

Its Openreach that really seem to be letting the side down - I just wish they would be honest with people, I'm not expecting miracles & know installs take time, I wish they would just be honest with people.
