Re: Full fibre being installed soon but router hasn’t arrived

So Matthew are you able to assist any further at all please?
As you see from the photo I posted I have a hub 1. If I’d have received a hub 2 I’d be using it.
So really I seem a bit stuck. I’m paying for super duper broadband but don’t have a router capable of using its full potential.
Where does this leave me?

@Cris_L Hopefully, either @MatthewWheeler , or another of the Help Team will be back to answer this in the near future, but you do have a functioning Hub.

Functioning, yes. Which is good so I’ll be ok work wise. But it seems my speeds may be restricted which defeats the point of the upgrade. Hopefully they’ll help out otherwise I’ll just have to buy one off amazon.

What speed package have you gone for on Full Fibre?

Re: Full fibre being installed soon but router hasn’t arrived

I’ve gone for the 500. Interesting to see what speed it hits!

OK - as said above, the H1 max's out at ~300, but that should be good enough, even for someone WFH. When are you due to be connected?

Re: Full fibre being installed soon but router hasn’t arrived

I’m sure it is. When I booked it was only £3 more for the 500gb which is why I went for it.
The thing is there’s no point me paying for 500 if they won’t give me a router capable, I could have just gone for the 300.

(1) When are you due to get FF - installation date

(2) Hopefully, @MatthewWheeler will get back to us soon, having more details with regard to the H2 showing on your account.

Sorry John but I don't believe that was what was said above.

The Hub 1 will happily cope with 500Mb download , in fact I believe it will handle up to 1Gb .It's limitation is on the upstream, it can only handle 30Mb for some reason ( I don't know why)

The upstream on the 500Mb product is 75Mb so that will be limited but I suspect it won't be that noticeable unless a lot of uploading is done e.g cloud backups

Re: Full fibre being installed soon but router hasn’t arrived

@jab1 No apologies necessary, I admit it's somewhat  confusing, as you would normally expect a limitation, if any,, to be on the download.l. I just needed to make sure that in this case  @Cris_L didnt get the wrong end  of the stick

Re: Full fibre being installed soon but router hasn’t arrived

Ok I’m not fussed about having a hub 1 or 2. I just want what I’ve got to be capable of what I ordered.

Is there any advantage for the hub 2?

Re: Full fibre being installed soon but router hasn’t arrived

As @MisterW said above, the H1 should be capable of handling your speeds, providing your equipment is also capable.

The H2 is newer, but not that much more capable, although if I was still with PN and offered it, I would take it.
