The fact that you have the best Plusnet staffer trying to sort this out suggests to me that they very much do care.
My reading is that you signed up to Plusnet for a FTTC service, having previously had Talk Talk FTTP. This was activated at the end of November but had a fault. Openreach came out early this month to fix this but you sent them away.
Plusnet are now offering again to get this up and running for you whilst FTTP is being activated. This sounds very reasonable.
If there is something that you do not understand then do please ask. For example, are you aware that when you do switch to Plusnet FTTP that you will lose your landline phone?

I cry for service providers when they fall victim to the decisions of others and are expected to carry the blame...
- I had FTTP from someone else
- I ordered FTTC from a new supplier (by mistake or I did not know what I was doing) ... but that is the new supplier's fault
- The new supplier sought to supply what I ordered ... but there was a fault on the supplier's equipment
- The new supplier sent someone to fix it ... but I sent them away because it was not what I really wanted
- The new supplier places new orders for what I really want - but cannot deliver it yesterday
It is very unfortunate, the timing is awful, but what was asked for was supplied and fair attempts have been made to remedy matters. Just because the remedy and statements about a complex situation does not fulfil expectations, does not make them lies. There is one of the best members of the Plusnet team working this case and I suggest that they deserve a bit more respect than being inferred to be liar.

Totally agree, @Townman

I am not going to have internet for Christmas which means I will not be able to speak to family. I am recently bereaved so this is awful for me. Christmas is so difficult & now I am on my own & potentially will not be able to see my family. I just want to cry.
@Townman It appears to me @deannadards is going through a bad time. perhaps a bit of understanding and compassion is needed here

As a solution to no internet for Christmas, there might be time to order this...
Three Mobile Pay As You Go Mobile Broadband 24 GB data SIM: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Dan,
I agree, which is why I said "It is very unfortunate, the timing is awful" but solutions have been offered (and rejected) to resolve matters, but now staff are being called lairs. There are boundaries which should not be crossed.
One of the following needs to happen...
- BT Openreach can get the FTTC service repaired sometime this week
- BT Openreach can process the ONT activation order which is scheduled for early Jan
- The user finds an alternative interim to cover their needs over Christmas, such as...
- A mobile data dongle plugged into their computer or router
- They tether their PC to their mobile phone if it offers a WiFi hotspot

I've worked all my life in support and qualification so I am very aware of all aspects of a journey of installations and faults will take you.
Unfortunately passions often run high and to be called a liar could be seen as low to moderate, a Banks trading floor you would expect high to extreme passion. But as you say there are no excuses to be rude or discourteous.
I would image if the OP was FTTP before then the cooper wire connection may have been disconnected at the cabinet, I also wonder if the Master socket may have been removed during the installation of the ONT. I note the question regarding the phone socket has not been answered.
A short term solution would be advised.
Dan.
