BTHub6 firmware

I have a BTHub6 which I bought ages ago and never got around to using... I am considering putting it in to service to replace my pn hub one, but I have a couple of questions on the firmware, which is really old (2019) -

1) is BT still pushing out updates to this router?  and

2) assuming it is, if I have it connected as an extender at the moment for testing (IE: via ethernet to the main router), does anyone know if it will update in this state, or will it only update if it is acting as the primary router (IE: with the phone line plugged in to it)?

Fix

@fibrephile

I don’t know if they are still being updated, try the BT forum or simply try it for a week or so.

They have to be the primary router to update. If you use it as an extender behind the main router firewall then arguably there is no need to update it.

Re: BTHub6 firmware

Thanks. I was hoping it would update (but guessed it probably wouldn't) before I go through the hassle of making it the main router so I could make sure it was still ok after updating, I've read some posts saying some folk saw a big speed drop when it updated and they had to revert to their pn router.
