Design flaw in the Hub Two

Just got a Hub Two and for some daft reason ...unless I'm missing something ...you can't set a schedule to turn off the WiFi at night. Yes, you can stop your kids devices from connecting, or stop all devices connecting for that matter, but the WiFi still pumps out the frequencies. It seems like the only way you can stop the WiFi is to manually log into the router each night (and then morning) to switch it on and off, which is a total pain in the a#* or cut the power, but that means I can't work on ethernet while my family enjoys some WiFi free rest. I hope I am missing something here otherwise I'll have to use the 14 day cooling off period to cancel. Any help would be appreciated.

What router did you have previously?

As a point of interest, you do not have to use the Hub2 - any compatible router can be used.

@daveheee

It's a very rare feature on any ISP supplied router. You'll have to buy your own or add a mesh system to achieve it.

@rbz5416  - very true. Although I do have it on my Fritz!box.😀

@jab1

I probably should have added "budget" ISP, which Zen certainly aren't - assuming that's where it came from. 😊

@rbz5416 Yep, Zen it is, and I'm paying maybe £1.50/mo  more than I would be paying PN - unfortunately we haven't got CityFibre infrastructure round here - yet - but when it appears, I'll be paying LESS.

@daveheee

I would say it's a missing feature rather than a design flaw

@jab1

That's impressive as there's £10pm difference in the retail prices for FTTC. If my cashback & reward card are honoured, nearer £16pm difference. But we're well off @daveheee's topic, so will stop now.

Get your own route, I can understand cutting access off for children, but why would you want to turn off the wifi completely?

@pint True - which is why I put the comment in quotes - I know it is a load of baloney.😀
