Re: Help with plusnet router two and google nest wifi

Hi,

Thanks.

I've got an ethernet cable plugged into the WAN port on the plusnet 2 (the plus net 2 has a pink light) and the ethernet port with a globe icon above, on the google nest wifi (pro). Google can connect to the nest wifi but it says the plusnet 2 isn't giving any wifi to the nest wifi.

Any ideas why that may not be working?

Yes, as stated above , you need to connect to one of the LAN ports on the Hub 2 not the WAN port!

Re: Help with plusnet router two and google nest wifi

Hi, thanks. But then it asks me to log in and the ip address. What log in info is needed and where do I find those details please?

It would be handy if someone did a step by step guide on how to connect the google nest wifi and what details are required, so that people don't have to keep asking.

Re: Help with plusnet router two and google nest wifi

Did you get yours working Mejisan? I get to the step when google nest wifi says that it needs WAN details and asks me to log in and for the ip. I don't know what it means, what details are required etc. The google nest wifi is plugged in via an ethernet cable to one of the ports (not the WAN) on the plusnet 2.

The settings you need to use your  own router are here https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/broadband-connection-settings/

You can ignore the vlan I'd settings , the Hub 2bin bridge mode will handle that

Re: Help with plusnet router two and google nest wifi

Hi MisterW,

Thanks,

To be honest, I don't know much about wifi.

What I am asking is that when the google nest wifi tries to connect, it asks to connect the one of the below

What one do I chose and when I chose one, what do I do to connect?

Re: Help with plusnet router two and google nest wifi

To be honest, I don't know much about wifi.

and that's why ISPs supply self configuring routers

If you wish to use your own router then you really need to do some research and understand what is necessary to configure them

Re: Help with plusnet router two and google nest wifi

Thanks Dan.

  1. Enter your account name and password. Verify the password, then tap Save .
  2. Reconnect the Ethernet cable to your Wifi point.

Are those details the plusnet log in details?
