Re: How to recover router password?

What is the make and model of router ?

Are you referring to the administrative password to log into the router to access its settings using a web browser?

If it is a Plusnet router, the 'default' password is printed on the label attached to the router.

However, if the password has been changed, then the only option is to factory reset the router, using the recessed Reset button, which will erase all custom settings. The default password can then be used to access the router.

Re: How to recover router password?

Thank you so much for your reply here. As I said I don't have better idea about the model. In the meantime I found an article online http://19216811.guru/blog/test-blog-page Can this be helpful for me?

Re: How to recover router password?

Does your router look like one of these three models which have been supplied by Plusnet in the last 5 years?

https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/router-setup-guides/

The router will have a Plusnet logo printed on it.

The link you provided is partially helpful but lacks detail for specific model of routers.

If you are currently using one of the above Plusnet routers, try pointing a web browser to

     http://192.168.1.254

Then log in using the default Router/Admin password printed on the underside of the router.

If that fails and the router is currently being used to access the internet, I don't recommend resetting the router using a paperclip for the moment without knowing the model, as  you may lose internet access !

Why do  you need the router's password if you don't mind me asking ?

Does someone need to change a setting in the router to resolve an issue ?

Is the router currently being used to connect to Plusnet ?
