Installing a New Modem from a New Account

Hi all,

I have recently moved into an apartment that was preinstalled with a Plusnet modem from the previous tenants, which I have been using for the past couple of weeks since their contract is still running. I have since set up and purchased my own Plusnet service, with the modem itself arriving this morning, due to be activated by the 26th. My main concern is that leaving the current router running while the new service is being activated might cause issues setting up the new router. Would this cause any possible issues with setting up my own router, or am I safe to leave it running while I wait for my own service to be activated?

Cheers,

Welcome aboard @twilliams1995

That should be perfectly fine. On the day of your activation when the existing router stops working, I'd recommend waiting until we've confirmed your broadband's ready to use then connect up the router we've sent you.

Let us know if there are any issues. Smiley
