My router flashes orange every time the landline rings

I’ve noticed over the last fortnight that the router light flashes orange when our landline rings. Once the landline call is completed the router returns to the blue light. I’ve tried resetting the router. Has anyone else had this issue at all? Many thanks for any advice.

@fluffy_morson That indicates a fault on your phone circuit/copper line. Raise a PHONE fault via https://www.plus.net/help/report-a-problem/phone/

It could just be a faulty filter.

Are you using a filtered faceplate on the master socket, or "rat's tail" filter(s)?

A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine

There's no fault found on the landline so like @198kHz has said Are you using a filtered faceplate or an old school one?

I am using a filtered faceplate.  It was fairly recently installed by a BT engineer too - maybe less than 3 years old?!

Re: My router flashes orange every time the landline rings

Try removing the faceplate and using the test socket - if that sorts the issue, replace the faceplate and try again. If the issue returns, buy a new faceplate.
