New Full Fibre Connectiobn - TP Link Deco S4 question ?

Hi Guys,

excuse my ignorance please in the first instance.

I got a full fibre connection last week. My set up is as follows. I have a plusnet hub 2 and TP Link Deco S4 mesh.

Can anyone tell me how to configure so I can use Deco to ping wifi around the house?

Under my old setup I was able to turn off the wi-fi capabilities on the router.

I'm just now sure how to achieve same on the hub 2.

many thanks in advance.

@davejillwhite. You don't actually need the hub 2 at all. Connect the m4 direct to the ONT. Set up the deco internet connection as ,pppoe  using your plusnet username & password., VLAN disabled

@davejillwhite

If you do want to turn off wireless on the Hub2 then:

Access the router home page (198.168.1.254) > Advanced Settings (you need the admin password for the router) > Wireless and change the setting to the top right from On to OFF and save it.

@davejillwhite  Welcome to the Community Forums.

Assuming that the Deco will accept a PPPoE connection then you do not need the Hub 2, simply connect the Full Fibre ONT to the Deco WAN input.

You then need to enter your Plusnet credentials in the Deco settings: Connection method PPPoE, VLAN disabled, Plusnet account name in the form <username>@plusdsl.net (for example, joebloggs@plusdsl.net) and your account password.

Edit

@MisterW types faster than me.

@davejillwhite

In addition to the above, link to the Deco S4 guide

Might be best to reset the Deco devices and start again, when you get to  "Set up internet connection" select PPPoE and enter your broadband username and password

No report so far?

Why on earth do people promise a follow-up, but don't bother?

well I've just acquired a Deco M4 and its connected fine via the ONT with PPPOE and the usual name and password, so I guess all the Deco series will be like that
