Printer connectivity problem with Hub Two Router

My Canon Pixma printer worked for a couple of months, but then connectivity ceased, no matter what I tried (rebooting router, removing and reinstalling software from scratch, pressing WSP button for 15 seconds, etc.). It won't connect either from my MacBook Pro or from my iPhone, which it did in the beginning.
The Canon engineer wasn't able to sort it out and said I needed to contact Plusnet to check if the WSP function is enabled "and actually doing something". Also, that the 2.4 frequency (required for printers) is enabled.
Plusnet won't come back to me. Any idea how I find out?

@paulinewooding the Hub 2 use the same SSID (WIfi name) for the 2.4 & 5 ghz bands. Some 2.4ghz only devices dont like this.
Use the Hub 2 Gui to temporarily disable the 5 ghz band, then try connecting the printer. Once its connected , you can reenable the 5ghz band and the printer should stay connected.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Assign a static IP address to the printer once connected, thereby the printer will always be “where” the client devices expect it to be. That said I’ve encountered issue with windows devices apparently preferring a local IPv6 connection.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

Thank you. Yes, it seemed that this was the problem. It occurred to me that I started to have connectivity problems after Plusnet upgraded the router. I wasn't sure how to do what you suggested, but did eventually get to speak to a Plusnet technician, who disabled the 5 ghz frequency, and, after a while, I seemed to get connected again (although the scanned copies so far look terrible, but will look into that separately). I think I may be able to do it myself next time, if I need to.
Fwiw, the Canon technician did say that Apple products don't tend to work well with printers, as they don't make printers and don't design their devices to be compatible with other manufacturers. Don't know how true that is.

Thank you. The problem was definitely that the printer couldn't connect to the wifi. It occurred to me that I started to have connectivity problems after Plusnet upgraded the router. I did eventually get to speak to a Plusnet technician, who temporarily disabled the 5 ghz frequency, and, after a while, I seemed to get connected again (although the scanned copies so far look terrible, but will look into that separately). Just checked on my iPhone running iOS 18.1.1 and there seems to be more print options to chose than I remember.
