I understand your concern about those 'BLOCK' entries, they do look a little scary if you don't know they are merely reporting successful activity, It is not unusual to see this amount of activity in this area - most people wouldn't even bother looking, and yes this is 'normal', but usually only for a relatively short time - once they fail to breach security, they drop off and try somewhere else.
No, the disconnections, which fortunately don't seem to have affected your connection at the moment, are a result of something probably in the BT network.
I assure you, the worrying thing is the number of disconnections, which will eventually lead to the automated systems throttling your performance and throughput.

Thanks very much for the explanation and assurance John.
I'm curious as to why a certain levels of disconnections will eventually lead to an automated throttling of performance?
It seems awfully mean that the automated response to disconnections is a further restriction of service!
You'd think an automated response to a problem would be to mitigate it rather than reinforce it with other unpleasantness!

The reason for that seeming unfairness is that the automatic systems are there to attempt to maintain stability, unfortunately they aren't clever enough to solve the problem 😉 - that still requires human intervention.
Hope you get it sorted, anyway.

Hi @thurrafork, thanks for getting in touch and I'm sorry to hear you're having connection issues as of recent. I can see when looking over your connection shown by the graph below that there's been a large number of drops in your connection recently which certainly hint something is out of place somewhere.
Although we can see these drops, when testing we aren't picking up any cause for the drops and nothing looks to be being detected externally. Before we look to investigate further then the first thing we'd recommend is running through a few checks your side that will rule a number of internal factors out as the cause of the drops.
I'd recommend starting with basic checks here: http://goo.gl/p2tpvL
And if that doesn't help the next thing would be to rule your internal wiring out by plugging the connection into your test socket which is under the face plate of your master socket and seeing if the drops stop. This rules out internal wiring, face plates and extension sockets as being the cause. How to locate the test socket and set your connection into it can be found here:
https://community.plus.net/t5/Library/Testing-From-The-Master-Socket/ba-p/1322242
Given the frequency of your drops I'd recommend monitoring in this set-up for 24-48 hours if the drops persisting isn't occurring straight away.
If the problem still persists from here we will go down the route of raising a fault. Let us know how it goes.
