Re: Remote router reset

In what way do you mean, @Ed1976 ? And why do you need a remote reset - I don't think it is possible, anyway.

Re: Remote router reset

Hi,
I am away from home and cannot connect to my smart devices. I’d like to restart the router to see if that helps.

Re: Remote router reset

@Ed1976 - assuming I'm looking at the right account, your Internet has been down since about 11am this morning. Were it online, I'd have rebooted the router for you.

Didn't know you could do that, Bob. 😉

Re: Remote router reset

Thanks both, I noted on a similar thread somebody (presumably from plusnet) offering to perform a “remote session kill”:

“I'm not sure how you would do this yourself however I could perform a session kill for you tomorrow morning and this will drop the PPP session which should reconnect automatically”

Could this be an option?

Re: Remote router reset

@Ed1976 I doubt it - but could be wrong - if your internet connection is 'down' as Bob says. This sounds like an issue on the BT/OR infrastructure.

Re: Remote router reset

A session kill would tear down your PPP session i.e. the broadband authentication part.

You don't have a PPP session in the first place though. The router is not online.

Pure conjecture, but the router could have lost power, or it may have completely lost signal. If that's the case, it's highly unlikely that anything can be done remotely to bring it back.

Re: Remote router reset

Ok, thanks anyway. Sounds like it might have to wait until I get home. I believe it has been off since 10:50 this morning (judging by info from a camera). The service is generally pretty reliable.

Re: Remote router reset

Give us a nudge when your router is back online @Ed1976 and we'll get the session kill processed from our end. Smiley
