This morning, after 2 weeks of almost no hiccups the router went red light, couldn't even log into it. Why would it do this?
Did the usual switch off & back on, blue light returned, LAN & Wifi back on.
A puzzle

There are numerous possibilities.
Plusnet are currently rolling out new firmware, maybe yours crashed during the restart.

Hi @bertmay
Thanks for reaching out.
A red / orange light with a flashing or static b symbol on the router indicates a sync problem, which can be caused by a number of reasons, from the router not being set up correctly, to issues with the Openreach infrastructure.
A red / orange light on it's own with no b symbol can indicate an authentication problem, the router may need to be logged into again.
I've just tested your line anyway and have found no major issues with the network, though a Bridge Tap has been detected. This is usually found when there are defects with the wiring within and around the perimeter of your property.
I'd suggest having a quick read through our Troubleshooting Guide, and if the issues are not being resolved, head over to faults.plus.net and raise the issue with our Tech Support Team.
