Two weeks ago, we asked you all if you fancied writing a blog for us, with the best one being published here and the author receiving 6 months' free Spotify subscription. Thanks to all of you who sent in an entry since then - it's been great to read through some of the ideas you've been talking about! There can only be one winner though, and we're pleased to announce that person is Maria MacCallum, for telling us all about Librivox. So without further ado, here's Maria's entry... Libravox - Acoustical liberation of books in the public domain Maria MacCallum My latest and best ever find on the internet is Libravox. I found it as an Android app for my phone but they are also available to all on the web. They describe themselves as: 'acoustical liberation of books in the public domain'. In a nutshell, free audio books! The books are all from the public domain, read by volunteers, and the list is ever growing. I love listening to audio-books when I can't sleep, or when I have a long drive. At the moment I'm working my way through all the Sherlock Holmes books, which I adore. Some of the recordings are better than others, and there's one story where I laughed the whole way through at this poor American man trying to pronounce our strange English street names. This is one of the best finds ever, it will keep me amused for years to come, they have all the classics. I've downloaded some childrens books too to keep my boys happy on long car drives. I hope you all love it as much as I do! Maz
