Getting faster speeds now - 35-40MB download and 13MB upload.
Bout time I stopped testing and got back to doing some work  .

In answer to your WiFi question, Yes it can have a significant effect.. The weaker the signal and/or more interference the slower the speed. Always best to test via ethernet. It'll also give you a clue as to whether you'd need to improve the wireless - change channel or whatever.
