Whos Tiscali?
Didn't they basically go broke and have to sell to TalkTalk at TT's price.

Re: A voice in the wilderness?

ok
upto 8MB either  by adsl or llu
it makes no difference as the lines are copper to us anyway
it is proven  at these medium speeds that the impedance of this medium can safely cope reliably on the  used carrier wave
while under these frequencies
BT's 21st century  technology is not fully tried and tested ,
as for extending the use of copper over longer and longer distances   BT can only get  what it pays for

Yes nadger thats correct Grin I dont get that people sign up with Plusnet knowing what they are signing up to and then complain Its not good enough one way or the other, Its just daft!!

tiscali are internet providers who offer speeds  upto 8MB and give their customer each  a  monthly usage allowance of 60 GB

Re: A voice in the wilderness?

and on PN you can use whatever you like.
Just only 10GB on value between 8am and midnight.
I wouldn't touch Tiscali/TT with a barge pole mind - the support here is way better
Interestingly, Talk Talk only offer 40GB now, so even worse value than PN.

Re: A voice in the wilderness?

tiscali llu is ok
I never had one disconnection or interruption in 5 years , never had to look at any download limit in that time
the  Philippian customer service  folk were/ and are always  polite
and the more expensive tech number in the uk knew what they were saying

Like I said they no longer exist and sold their UK operation to TalkTalk at a knock down price.
The day that it was announced that Tiscali was buying Pipex ( Friday 13th July 2007) I got mac code and migrated. I've always kept an unfriendly eye on what's happened to them and good riddance - not that I think TalkTalk is any better.

So why did you come here if you were happy with their service?

Re: A voice in the wilderness?

the reason I joined plusnet was  I stupidly believed an internet advert
however their forum is pretty good as our most of  its contributors
it   maybe cheaper but its allowance on usage which is what i am talking about and the main talking point of the thread   is lousy
others have said you get what you pay for ,
but
I'd prefer to say a happy customer is a customer who is satisfied with the service he/she gets
clearly with plusnets allowances   lots are not

Re: A voice in the wilderness?

Im not trolling and never have on this forum, I respect its members too much, I replied to thisoldman before anyone here, You and him signed up for The value product that both you and he know has a 10GB download limit, Why do that if its not enough?
Im using TalkTalk right now and agree they are RUBBISH

I have never been with them to know but as I dont like the spying on their own customers I wouldnt
want to be with them,
but tiscali  is  still running independently i'm told and  their LLU  worked fine during the time  i was with them
again  their  staff  i spoke to at their call centre were always polite

Re: A voice in the wilderness?

How many times do I have to say that Tiscali no longer exists as a company in the UK. They come under the TalkTalk banner - try typing www.tiscali.co.uk and see where it takes you.

Re: A voice in the wilderness?

AND that never answered my question.
Edit, Without going off topic can I say That before I joined Plusnet I was with Tiscali when they did exist and the whole year I was with them I only got  a speed of 1MBdwn, I could not stream or nothing, Moved to plusnet, Same flat etc, Same line and my speeds rocketed to The highest possible and has done ever since, I just hope that continues when I move back Roll_eyes
