I'm sorry about the delay.
I appreciate that you may not have seen it, but the page that you raised that ticket from tells you that we will respond within 5 working days.
I promise you that we will respond, but it might be a couple of days before we get round to your ticket.

OK, the day arrived, as did the engineer, and I now sit here on fibre broadband at great speeds so all's well so far!
My question still stands though, regarding the previous day I had to take off work ...

Fibre works, and works well so far, but I fear that someone else might so easily get the same thing happening to them ..
