I started the process of changing over from BT to Plus Net in the new year and have now been a content (as in happy) user for a month or so.
The process wasn't painless but the problems were quite easy to resolve. I like that Plus Net confirms everything by e-mail so I have a record of what went on.
I left BT for several reasons, the main ones being that I had to renegotiate the cost every year and as I use only linux computers at home they provided me with no support.
I have my own router (a FRITZ!Box) which connected very easily. I am using the phone and broadband service, and on broadband I have signed up to e-mail and voip. I have an ADSL 2+ connection so it is about 20M down and 1M up, although Plus Net constrict it to 444k up but that isn't a problem. I have successfully connected all my devices to the e-mail service including an N900 phone, an Android tablet and linux netbook. My linux servers also send e-mails and I managed to successfully set up their own e-mail service on Plus Net and configure postfix to use it. This allows me to communicate with the servers by e-mail and the servers e-mail me if they detect any problems.
So all going well so far.

I forgot to say that my router has a SIP server inside it and that also connected to Plus Net's VOIP service successfully. In practice, my router renews the broadband connection every day, which involves reconnecting to the VOIP service and this occasionally doesn't work. My router logs everything and send me a report each week.
Having a SIP server inside my router means that I can use my mobile phone as a PSTN or VOIP phone when at home. The mobile phone also rings when calls are made to either number - very convenient.
I have already discussed uncapping the up service with Plus Net. I conducted a test from work which indicated that 444k was still much faster than most web sites I visit. So I decided that there was not point in uncapping at the moment.
