I have no idea if BT have fixed it or nor as the crackling is intermittent.
However this post is about the Plusnet response/actions.
I phoned this morning to the voice line faults and asked if he could hear the crackling on the line. When he confirmed he could I asked that a fault be raised.
Early this afternoon I had a call from Openreach checking the line (no noise - so it may have gone away or it might have been fixed - I am not holding my breath on that one).
The point is that from reporting the fault to Openreach doing something - less than 4 to 5 hours - i am really impressed. It beats the ticket system all ends up and I didn't need to answer loads of irrelevant questions.

Hi Jim,
Great to hear that Openreach acted on our raising a fault so quickly.
Any reason why this is in the forum of rantage? Or are you saying that you called BT instead?

Openreach can at times get their finger out as I may have mentioned before.
A few days ago I reported a fault for a vulnerable elderly neighbour (no dial tone at all) and popped back 10 minutes or so later to update her; the Openreach guy was already there and up a ladder checking the cable!
This was not PlusNet but was another non-BT phone provider.
