god no, dont ever just pull the phone line like that. the dlm will see that as a dropped connection and possably increase your Noise margin.
What router do you have? since its now day time you can just apply the same snr tweak again with dmt and this will resync the line and create a new ppp session.
if you have a netgear then go to 192.168.1.1 in your browser's address bar and input admin as username and i think default password is admin again. Then goto router stats/ status. then at the bottom there is two buttons click the connection one and then click disconnect and then reconnect. This just basicaly grabs a new ip address from PN and forces any changes to your PN profile to kick.
Quote lso do you know if the IP profile reported by PN is what really limits the throughput or is it the IP profile reported by the BT speedtester app? I usually see the BT version updated quite quickly and the PN version several days later - but still no increase in throughput (i'll try your suggestion too help with this).
both will limit your thourghput. the PN ip profile should follow any changes in your BT profile within 12 hours

I am using a Linksys WAG54GS at the moment.
It has Disconnect and Connect buttons at the bottom of the first page in the router status site, I guess that's what I need to use then.
