Re: How Long Does It Take !!!!! Ticket No30495258

The crackle is very significant.
Have you got more than one handset so you can prove it is not that doing it? (or test your handset at a neighbours, or borrow a known good handset).
If you plug the telephone ONLY in to the test socket is there still a crackle? The easiest way to test is to dial 17070 and take option 2 - quiet line test - you should hear nothing.

As Jelv mentions, the crackle is significant and probably explains the high noise margin.
Try the quiet line test and raise a fault with your voice supplier if you still hear the noises.

Hi there,
Did you do the quiet line test as advised? If so, what were the results?

James, Chris, Mand
even though my speed has increased i am not getting the speeds that feel i should expect, i have done all the things asked and the noise margin has not dropped and the speed is no where near what my neighbours are getting, bt say i should get at least 2.5 - 3.0mb download, your advice & help would be very much apprciated

How often do you disconnect your router?

Re: How Long Does It Take !!!!! Ticket No30495258

As you had a fault that's now fixed, we can request your SNR to be reset. This should increase your sync speed but will also restart the 10 day training period again. Please let me know if you'd like me to request this.

Just as an aside, noticed last night that the green broadband light on the thompson router is not as bright as the other green lights, does this make any difference to the speed/connection
Thanks
