"New" and "Improved" a double whammy of price rises and option snipping.
I really can't see the point of the "new" phoneline packages. What's wrong with having a basic phoneline then ticking the extra options you want when ordering. No need of ever having "new" packages.
Of course the simple customer couldn't manage that so thank goodness that plusnet make the "portfolio easier to manage" which "creates less confusion".
Are the "new" packages just an attempt to soften/justify the price increases?.

It's over 31 times what I pay for a 1 minute call using VoIP (excluding the time when I am in a 120 'Freedays' period, when it's actually infinitely more expensive!).

@RobPN who do you use for VoIP?
Kind regards

Mainly FreeVoipDeal ( www.freevoipdeal.com ) for UK and International 'landline' calls; and UK mobile calls at around 1p per minute. No setup fees for any calls, but watch out for costs to non-geographic numbers.

Just heard about the price rises and once again we are having to pay more for line rental, we use it less and yet have to pay more. It is time this money for old rope rip of was stopped and it is a rip off.
We now pay more for line rental and yet get less for it.
How nice of Plusnet to put the speed of download up and yet the sped of uploads down, it is a shame I can not get the speed I pay for, I used to get pretty close to it when I first came onto FTTC, but not now. so no way will I get the new speed.
Thankfully my contract ends in August, I was thinking of moving anyway, this have just tip me over the edge, I am so glad I did not bother with Plusnet TV.
As for the line rental it is time BT was separated and line rental put down in price, if it was not for the fact people need phone lines for broadband, BT would have gone bust a while back.

I see that the price of Evenings and Weekends is increasing. As a long standing customer I currently have E&W included at no additional cost to my line rental charge. Will this continue?

Line Rental Saver isn't changing in price as part of these changes.

I see that Plusnet are going to improve their service by reducing the upload speed from 19.2Mb/s to 9.4Mb/s.
My little green cabinet is about 40 metres from my front door and I currently achieve about 18Mb/s and this is important to me for the things that I do. I chose Plusnet fibre broadband partly based on this level of service.
Luckily my minimum service period is expired so I can walk away from Plusnet anytime and if the planned drop in service levels affects my activities that is what i will do.

This only applies if you are presently on the 40/20 package which was withdrawn on 9th June 2014
If you are on the 80/20 package there is no change

Thanks for that. I am not sure whether 40/20 or 80/20 applies. My account details just indicate I am on Unlimited Fibre without phone.
I've been with Plusnet for several years and upgraded to fibre in November 2014. I did a speed test today and the results were
Upload 37.71 Mb/s
Download 18.68 Mb/s
Have you any idea how I can find if I am on a 80/20 or 40/20 package?

I've checked your account and you are on a 40/20 package.
I am sorry you'll be losing some upload speed, however you should see an increase in download speed. If the upload is essential, it may be worth considering the higher (80/20) fibre package.
