Member Centre Login failed Webmail is down as is RSS Feed of Service Status

My access to my Webmail has been unavailable since (at least) 1600hrs today. This has proved EXTREMELY inconvenient. Plusnet has an uncanny knack of letting me down at the most inopportune times.

Hi All,
I only managed to log on to the forum using an old signon from a Plusnet account I used to have five years ago I think.
The system says that my current userid is invalid when logging on to the forums.
Problems since attempting to logon today from about 13:00, so far
1. no webmail access - site doesn't exist apparently.
2. intermittent access to the Plusnet website login (sometimes thinks password and/or userid invalid).
3. no access to forum login unless I use a login from a previous account that I think is 5 years old.
I could find no information about this problem except on the forum and I wouldn't have had access to it but for an outdated signon.
I did phone the support centre earlier this afternoon and was told that there were system problems.  But I'd rather not continually phone them, wouldn't it be better to have some sort of notice posted about the problem.
Seems that the only way to find out about problems is to log in but if that doesn't work then you're left out in the cold.
Only webmail problems listed on the system are from over 3 years ago.
Reporting seems that it could do with a major overhaul or at least a note on the homepage .
It is very annoying to have no information easily accessible and a bit disappointing from Plusnet.
Check again tomorrow morning I guess to see if any progress has been made.
By the way does anyone know where on the Plusnet website problem status is reported - maybe I was looking in the wrong places.

Just been on the Phone to PlusNet thay still have a Data Centre outage, what was caused by a Power Surge at one of the Data Centre's, the Power Surge took out the UPS unit, so because of this the following went off line:

I did say to the agent on the phone this is not acceptable in this day and age, they should have a fale over to say to the London Data Centre so that nothing goes offline.

Crumbs the low level or possibly complete lack of a resilient infrastructure both at the same time worries & surprises me.  I surmise "they" will say this is actuarially a very low % chance event......................but as the saying goes if it can go wrong it will one day.  It will be interesting to hear what will be done to mitigate for this and other such low % chance events in future???

What happened to the "alternative` site" page that used to be put up when there was a problem, or Is This It ?
I cannot find a bookmark from before.
Usenet not working either.
UPS is a guaranteed delivery service !!!

@Routefinder, I would love to say that this surprises me, But it doesn't surprise me in the least, but it does make me angry, that thay have not learnt from the past mistakes.

Just letting you all know that we're experiencing further issues in Sheffield at present. Our website was temporarily unavailable but now seems to be back up. Email and internal systems still appear to be an affected though.
This also means I'm unable to post to service status so I'll keep this thread updated for now.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience these issues may be causing.

It is 0205hrs and I still cannot gain access to my Webmail. It is utterly shocking, not to mention UTTERLY unacceptable, that a large ISP such as Plusnet can have critical aspects of their service go offline for many, many hours without warning or an adequate plan for swift recovery. I am AMAZED that this has happened and that a national organisation such as Plusnet has such fragile, ill-considered systems that this can happen and no fail-over exists. Recommend you to friends? You must be joking! I'd like to keep my friends, thanks!
How on Earth did this happen and why is it taking so long to fix? Look at this from the positon of an outsider and consider how it appears. It is nothing short of farcical. How does Plusnet expect to be taken seriously when an outage can cause such widespread and extended disruption to paying customers?
This is dreadful service and Plusnet should be ashamed for having got themselves into a postion where this could happen.
