Webmail is up but it's running on reduced hardware and is under significant load. There's a chance It may be problematic until some out of hours maintenance we have planned for tomorrow morning.
Have you tried both the new and old Webmail platforms?

Roundcube is at https://betawebmail.plus.net/
Squirrelmail is at https://webmail.plus.net/src/login.php
however both are taking an infinitely long time to load/login/load mail etc. for me.

Taking an age to get the login page, usually times out during login, and on the occasional time I succeed in accessing Webmail, the connection is dropped before I can use it. I'm also being timed out of the community site at times.

Community fine here but neither webmail nor betawebmail get past log-in pages. Must be serious. Be back tomorrow, got some Googling to do!

To my knowledge we're talking about a localised power failure combined with a faulty contactor at one of the two Sheffield data centres we have, however I will confirm this once I have the full picture. We're still running off back-up power and part of the problem recovery is dependent on replacement hardware that isn't expected until later on today.

Any update available yet Bob?

I'm about to post one although there's not much more to report I'm afraid. We're looking at some out of hours maintenance early tomorrow morning.

Sorry. Both POP3 and IMAP access have been fine for a while though now so there's nothing stopping you from accessing your email using a local email client like Outlook or Thunderbird. Webmail is not entirely out of service but it's likely to take you a very long time to get anywhere if you do decide to use it.

Yes, that would work too.

Re: Member Centre Login failed Webmail is down as is RSS Feed of Service Status

Just posted the following update:
[quote author="Bob Pullen"]Access to Sheffield-based services/Data Centre Power Outage (69729) - UPDATE
This is an update to this afternoon's post about the problems you may be experiencing following the outage at one of our data centres yesterday/early this morning.
There are still some residual problems that may be affecting customers, namely our Webmail and Faz-2-Email services.
The following issues have been addressed since the last service announcement and normal service has been resumed:
- Inbound email delays affecting the delivery of messages to customers mailboxes
- Slow/Problematic access to our Community Site and Discussion Forums
- Missing customer Webstats
- Access to our Service Status RSS feed
You may still be affected by the following problems (although this list is not necessarily exhaustive):
- Slow/Problematic access to both our new and old Webmail platforms
- Delayed billing for anybody due to have a payment taken/processed today
- Access to our Fax-2-Email service
Please be mindful that this problem does *not* affect broadband connectivity or performance, so if you have a problem with your Internet connection itself then you should raise it via the normal channels.
We have some maintenance work planned for early tomorrow morning to resolve the remaining issues. This work may be intrusive and we may need to take our website, internal systems and some other services offline whilst the work is carried out.
If this does go ahead then we will post further details nearer the time.
We'd like to apologise for the continued inconvenience and will post another update later on this evening.
Kind regards,
Bob Pullen

@Bob
Everything is working fine except the SM and The RC webmails still unable to log-on.
However, tried  http://www.mail2web.com. ; It timed out.  So, no joy there, I'm afraid.
You and the team are doing a grand job; so keep it up.  Hope all gets sorted by tomorrow.  Smiley
