Newsgroup spam

Can't they turn on the spam filters for the newsgroups
Its becoming un-usable with all these crap posts that are getting though.

Hi, and welcome to the forums!
Ours Newsgroups service is run by Giganews who run their own spam filtering service, they have some information here.
A lot of the spam you're seeing might be coming from Google Groups, more information on how to reduce it can be seen here.
Please let us know if you do try the method detailed in the second link and if it's successful or not.
