Re: No MAC after 7 days - tearing my hair out.

That's actually quite clever if you knew their previous pricing model, where all packages had unlimited useage.
Quite a lot of customers on longer lines would choose the cheap (max 8mbps) package as they couldn't go much faster anyway but still got unlimited downloads. Now if they do want a lot they'll have to pay for it and upgrade.
Overall I actually think it's the right move for them as the costs relate to data volumes not connection speed. No doubt there'll be debate and adjustments over time on the cut-off point in GB/month and pricing. Possibly even an extra level before getting to Unlimited.

How about ADSL2+ (up to 24 Mb/s), no traffic shaping at any time including P2P, Usenet and FTP traffic, ie "100% no transfer limits, no port blocking, no throttles......just pure Internet". Free wireless modem/router, free migration (no setup fees of any kind), unlimited bandwidth usage, 30 day contract, no "exit" fee if I migrate away. Geographical 01 or 02 phone number for all contact purposes, UK based customer support call centres and provision of MAC online.
All for less than £15.99/month?

Give it a try and post the reply on here!  Grin

Yes, but £15.99 would have been a better offer - I was prompted to ask for an excellent offer.

I get most of that for £17.50pm. About to go up a bit with VAT of course.

Email dated 14.12.09
"We're writing to let you know that the government is increasing VAT on 1st January
2010 from 15% back to 17.5%. We're pleased to advise that we won't be passing the
VAT increase on to you for your broadband service, so the price of your Plusnet
Value account will be unaffected "

You said "try naming your price" so I said:

So it was to PN that I was making the request above. Threw in the free wireless router and lower price for the heck of it as they would make it better than where I'm going. The rest is the same as where I'm going (at £19.99/mo).
If PN can make a better offer maybe you could PM it to me so the others don't get jealous?

I can't ask for a better offer as I'm happy with the one I got  Cool
Anyway I wouldn't post details on an open forum 'cos individual offers are just that - they apply to the person concerned only  Roll_eyes

This is what makes these forums so interesting - posts from people quite obviously living in cloud cuckoo land!
