Re: No router for new fibre install

Welcome golfmead,
I think you found the best place to come if you need to get something to happen that the CSC has problems with.
In this case, it seems to be general policy to leave dispatch until virtually the last possible moment. I don't really understand why - It strikes me that it can *only* lead to worry on the part of the new subscriber, when they could be given a sense of excitement instead.
Hope the install goes OK on Friday!

Re: No router for new fibre install

Thanks, on my account its still showing as processing but obviously you have more up to date info. So lets see how the Christmas post works! Thanks anyway for following this up so quickly. Obviously you have touched on the delivery process but surely there is a better way of doing it that would improve customer experience. Thanks again.

Re: No router for new fibre install

@golfmead,
See, I said one of the excellent Digiatl Care team would be along, although I didn't expect it till this morning.
@Chris, above and beyond the call of duty, haven't you got anything better to do at that time of night! Smiley

Re: No router for new fibre install

It's been dispatched and I'm hoping it will be with you today or by the very latest tomorrow, I was going to personally send one out but it would not get there any quicker.
Our system had not updated to show that your router had been dispatched when it actually had been.
Sorry for the confusion.
Please let me know when your router arrives and how your install goes.

Re: No router for new fibre install

If you have a WIFI card in you desktop... then you can bridge the laptops ... this would give the kids internet via WIFI maybe a little slower than you expect due to sharing but it would work

Re: No router for new fibre install

Smiley Grin surprise, the router has amazingly turned up and so hassle for nothing. Thanks everybody anyway and thanks to Chris (digital care team) for the response and customer service. Maybe if I had a bit clearer info and help from the call center when I called them yesterday (when they told me they couldnt tell me when i would have my equipment and there was nothing they could adder do), I wouldn't have been so upset. Also the account web page saying my order was being processed and not dispatched didn't help.
Anyway, ever the optimist, I am sure the BT engineer will battle through the floods tomorrow to activate my fibre. At least I can look at the shiny router if he doesn't!!

Re: No router for new fibre install

Good news about the router arriving Smiley
As Chris says, let us know how the install goes...
NB you could probably change the title of this thread now to perhaps add 'router arrived'
