Whichever, it's going to be intriguing to see what BTw and Plusnet have to say now, but I think it's fairly obvious that someone much more senior at Plusnet needs to deal with this.

In fairness to Adam, I'm confident he's dealing with this appropriately.  I think BTW are letting Plusnet, Adam and me down repeatedly, but in light of Adam's recent update above, we'll see if it goes ahead without cancellation next time (whenever that is).

That's Sam Beckett. I thought you might have been referring to Samuel Beckett as in Waiting For Godot

Re: Not off to a good start

Ok, NOW the fifth order has been cancelled.  Bank holiday weekend delays will slow progress on this now, but I never thought when I placed the order last year that Easter would be an issue.  Shocked
Adam placing a sixth order this morning.  What more can I say?

Sixth order due for installation tomorrow.  Whatever has been causing the orders to be cancelled has now been resolved (we're told), so sixth time lucky, as the ol' saying goes...

Re: Not off to a good start

I have read this entire thread with much interest. I have to say that words fail me........... Page80 must be pulling his/her hair out by now.
I signed up with Plusnet, as a completely new customer for Broadband & phone, last October 2012. I was moving back to the the UK. from overseas to a new (to me)  property with no broadband (or phone) at all. I had originally opted for Fibre, but when I visited this forum & saw the dire experiences that some were experiencing with BT Openreach, who were forever failing to keep appointments, I cancelled the fibre part of the order completely & just went for basic broadband instead. This decision was to ensure that I got some sort of broadband, however slow, rather than no broadband at all. I have never regretted that decision.
It seems that more than 6 months on, nothing has changed. I just hope that we never have a problem which requires intervention or a visit from BT. Are they the worst Company in the UK. or is there another out there, that wins that accolade??    Angry    Undecided

Anotherone.
re. my last post. Maybe it was not clear. I was not remotely suggesting that Plusnet were worthy of the title  of Worst Company in the UK.
I was suggesting that maybe BT were though. I have never had any dealings with Talktalk. Sounds like I'm lucky there too.

Re: Not off to a good start

Ok, no internet this morning, and the router reports incorrect login details, so it looks like the migration may have actually happened.
To make a couple of things clear, I've never experienced an issue with this sort of thing with the many migrations of ADSL I've had using a MAC when moving from one copper service to another.  I've also not had (or known anybody else experience) and issue migrating from copper to fibre.
This is the first experience I know of personally, migrating from one fibre service (BT Infinity) to another ISP for fibre.  It's not gone well, but it's important to understand that as far as I've been told, the issues were due mainly to BT Wholesale.  They insisted several times that the issue was resolved, clearly knowing it wasn't because I'm sure they didn't actually do anything.  Nevertheless, it appears that with some intervention from Plusnet all should be well finally.
The ISP shouldn't have to babysit the provider because they can't be bothered to do their job.  I'm sure scruff, in your case you probably would've experienced no issues with a brand new fibre installation.  I've also had BT engineers come out to me many times in the past and their service has always been excellent, but we're not talking about the guys that turn up at your house.  Something goes wrong behind the scenes at BT, and its various companies, and it seems all too often that this impacts the customer.
In terms of service, Plusnet are definitely excellent.  I'm very glad to be off BT, who are overpriced and provide pretty shoddy service IMO.  I ended up with TalkTalk once, through no fault of my own (signed up with Nildram the month they were bought by Opal, who then got consumed by TalkTalk).  Definitely the worst internet service I have ever experienced, and I've been with quite a few.  This is my second time with Plusnet, and as long as they keep their speed offerings current (fast) and their package prices reasonable, I'm sure I can stay for a while.
Apologies for the long post.  I'll reply again when I've confirmed the service migration either way and I'm online at home again.
For everyone else experiencing issues, good luck.  Be persistent, and bear in mind who's really at fault.

Hi Page80,
The order's showing as complete, though we can't see any connection attempts on your account - hope everything's working alright? Please let us know.

When I'm home this afternoon I can reconfigure my router appropriately and it should all be fine.  Thanks for your help Matt and Adam!  Cheesy
