He was subsequently told that the date would be the 12th if you read the post more thoroughly. Clearly somebody didn't check carefully enough if there were tags still on the line and he lost his phone service because it appears TalkTalk cancelled it on the 6th. There was no transfer on the 6th. The gaining provider is supposed to make sure things run smoothly, and clearly they didn't.
I repeat, there are too many incidents like this reported, oh yes, and it's always somebody else's fault
Well considering the large drive for new customers, I blame him for not getting it resolved

Quote from: chrcoluk .........The dodgy provisioning was always dodgy for years tho so I dont blame that on the current CEO.

I read the posts thoroughly. The OP creates a confusing picture though about what happened and I am waiting for someone from DCT to confirm the issue from their end.
The tag on the line should only become an issue on a new order, not a migration. There would be no reason for Plusnet to check this, if they are migrating a service across.
It looks to me that the OP cancelled his service with TT which has created all the problems.

I suspect the cancellation with TalkTalk probably created a problem, but sorry, as he was given conflicting information more than once, someone should have done thorough checks including checking for Tags especially on a move from TalkTalk. It's well known that this issue comes up.
Please stop making excuses for Plusnet on this one Andy, especially in light of the gentleman's declared disability needs. They messed up, and didn't do thorough checks. Simples.

This is news to me as TOTL issues relate to two things:
1) New orders where an existing broadband service is not active
2) Home moves where someone takes over an existing line
There is no reason to check for a tag on a migration as it's not part of the process with BTW or OR. It's fairly evident there will be a tag on the line as TT own and provide the service! The whole purpose of tags are to ensure someone does not order a new broadband service on the wrong line.

I am not making any excuses. I think your assumptions in this case are incorrect and Plusnet are being blamed without the full picture being seen.

Yes I am, because twice at least the user was concerned and clearly worried and clearly explained his reasons. A thorough check should have been done in this case, and it wasn't.
As for the tags issue, I suggest you look through some previous forum posts.
Anyway this has taken this thread wildly off-topic, so I suggest we leave it here.
