Re: Phantom Upload uncapper is back

We'd be quite happy to do it off the back of a post in these forums if you like?
I'd have done it already but am not sure if you're just asking or if you would actually like us to cap it for you Smiley If you do want it done, just post back and we'll place the order for you.

Re: Phantom Upload uncapper is back

Thanks for the quick reply.
If an intermittent issue I am monitoring still persists, I may request a rate cap on the upstream within the next week or two to solve it.

Re: Phantom Upload uncapper is back

Long time since I posted on these forums but I have just iscovered that my upload speed has almost doubled  Smiley  I didn't ask for it but it is very welcome and I hope it stays like this.
The effect on my download speed is hardly noticeable so I'm a very happy bunny at the moment.  Smiley  Smiley

Re: Phantom Upload uncapper is back

The Legend title goes back to my many years as a moderator on the earlier plusnet forums and my contributions to the help items that were still being used on the Plusnet  usergroup site a while ago.
I haven't looked to see if they still are though.
So yes I have been a Plusnet user and contributer for 12 years now and seen a lot of changes happen since 2000 when I fist joined. Not always to the good but overall I've not seen any need to change my provider  Smiley

Re: Phantom Upload uncapper is back

My upload speed more than doubled after Dave's software tweak but has now reverted after recent reboot. Cry

Re: Phantom Upload uncapper is back

Router stats and a BT diagnostic speed check would be informative.

Re: Phantom Upload uncapper is back

Can't see why there's a problem unless it's Dave's tweak.

Re: Phantom Upload uncapper is back

Maximum bandwidth up of 20,256 seems a tad optimistic! Crazy

Re: Phantom Upload uncapper is back

The current sync (Bandwidth down) seems a tad poor for that attenuation and current SNRM, especially as it's daylight! But that Upstream throughput is atrocious considering the sync speed is 994 up! What's the VP status of your Exchange like?

Re: Phantom Upload uncapper is back

No problems on Leighton Buzzard exchange.
My upstream is capped but Dave's tweak removed that for a while - just wondering why it reverted after reboot. Could always ask for cap to be removed.
I'm a reasonable distance from exchange and nearest cabinet so download is acceptable - not bothered about fibre.

Re: Phantom Upload uncapper is back

I'm confused by your remark about it reverting back, were the stats you posted not the current ones? The US sync (bandwidth) is 994 - that's not capped!
