Hi there,
The tech has confirmed that the phonephone is working. he is only seeing 16meg download speed. He said he will get the port at the exchange bounced. Please let me know if you are seeing the same bandwidth?

Hi Christian,
After taking a look at the line it looks like you have a profile set to 17mbps on our side and the line is banded to 25mbps on BT's side so I've increased our profile up to match the 25mbps banding from BT. Hopefully we should see this jump once the engineer resets the DLM and we can then increase this for you on our side if this doesn't update automatically.
Let us know how the line looks when you can test this later today and we should be able to check the banding for you.

Depending on the type of engineer who resolved your fault, they may not have reset the DLM. As the voice service was also down, I'd guess it was a POTS (plain ol' telephone service) engineer who wouldn't necessarily know how to, or even have the keys to open the cabinet, to reset the DLM.
I'd wait for DCT to pick this up tomorrow but it may be that another fault and engineer is needed.  Undecided

DLM manages your line the same way DRM manages your rights.

Thanks for the info Smiley  However i'm now gfwtting 15meg. I spoke to the engineer yesterday and he said it was capped to 16Meg. It must drop if there is a fault I suppose but he said that it would need to be reset and that he would put through the request. I would think that if another one is needed then it would be on the same ticket. No one closes a ticket without confirmation its back to normail surely. lol  Roll_eyes Also I have to take on board it can take a few weeks for the connection to stabalise once the DLM has been reset. Suppose just confirmation it's been done and it is needed.
I'll just wait and see what today brings. It's good to have a LAN Line back anyway.

Morning Christian,
I took a look into your line this morning and found that we had an update from the exchange equipment last night requesting the profile to be set to 16mbps on your account. This seemed a little odd after we saw it was up at 25mbps after the line fault was cleared so I ran some broadband fault diagnostics and they returned a possible issue Shocked
From the looks of the results there are some external line issues which could be causing this drop in your speed so I've now logged this with BT to have an engineer investigate. The fault seems to be external to your property so they have advised they won't need access to your address.
I've now updated your faults ticket to reflect the change in situation and hopefully this should be resolved soon and restore the speed. I'll keep an eye on this over the course of the day and see if we have any updates on the estimated fix time.

Hi there

Now its under 15 meg download but the upload is now 13.25.    Still 60% lower than it was. Will they be checking the copper connections again? I am no longer able to contact the BT engineer.
