Plusnet and BT

Hello all,
I joined Plusnet sometime in December 2012 I had the broadband package with phone calls too. Now since January 2013 i keep getting bills from BT charging me from December 2012 to April 2013 £120.00 How come i am getting charged by both of you? I contacted BT but after going halfway round the world and ending up in Mumbia did not get a answer to my question.
I contacted Plusnet and got a similar answer, yesterday i had two big guys from a collection agency on behalf of BT try and get heavy with me asking for now £420.00. Seeing that you are part of BT do you think you and BT can get your heads together and sort this problem out! before i have to take legal action against you.
Many thanks.

Re: Plusnet and BT

Hi there,
I would recommend that you raise a complaint via http://bt.com
It's likely that their billing details are incorrect which we have no control over.

Re: Plusnet and BT

Were you on a minimum term contract with BT?

Re: Plusnet and BT

When did your minimum term expire?
Did you contact BT to cancel the service?
Although the migration of service should have automatically cancelled your BT service it is (as you've found out) always worth contacting the provider anyway.
BT Retail and Plusnet are both part of the BT Group but have no other relationship.

If the minimum term with BT had not expired you should not have moved your telephone to Plusnet until it had. If you did move before the end you will have to pay BT until the end of the minimum term. The best you could do is contact BT and negotiate a settlement with them.
