I've recently become a less satisfied Plusnet customer than I was before. It's not that I don't like Plusnet but now I'm considering my options for my broadband provider, web hosting, telephone and TV and finding that Plusnet are not particularly competitive or the package I might want just doesn't exist.
I've aired my thoughts a little more publicly on my blog at http://gibbalog.blogspot.com/

Hi Graham,
I've tried giving you a ring to discuss your options.
Would you mind PMing me a suitable contact number so we could discuss your needs?

Again, excellent customer support - thanks! How many other companies would bother with such a personal service by actually giving someone a call? Not many! But then why does it take a forum post, blog post or twitter entry rather than using the Help System as I tried first time round. Nevermind, I'll PM you a phone number.

It looks very much like Plusnet have this issue in hand already http://community.plus.net/blog/2008/10/10/news-for-plusnet-webhosters/ and there's even a trial under way http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,69283.0.html
However, still only a mere 250MB web site allowance though. I consider that very poor indeed for an improved hosting service, but the rest of the announcements sound very promising indeed.

Yup, point taken, thanks very much. I've only just signed up for a community user name (Why doesn't my normal plusnet login work? Why do I need a separate ID? Again, probably answered on here somewhere) and should probably have done a bit of a search around first. Still doesn't fix the problem of 250MB being a tiny amount of web space, the inability to increase that space (under the current system) and the fact it's quite expensive for more space (under the new system). External hosting does appear to be the way to go.

Hi Graham,
You're asked to choose a different ID as one of the concerns of our old forums were that they showed your account username, which a number of people didn't like.
