Not so... As I mentioned in my original post, it looks like the cost of Unlimited outside low-cost areas is increasing from £16.99 to £17.49. Here are the relevant bits from the 'Here's the legal bit' section:
"If you sign up from 7th May to 9th June...
After the 12 month offer period you'll simply pay the standard price for your Unlimited Broadband (currently £9.99 a month in low cost areas otherwise £16.99 a month).
If you sign up from 10th June to 8th July...
After the 12 month offer period you'll simply pay the standard price for your Unlimited Broadband (currently £9.99 a month in low cost areas otherwise £17.49 a month)."

Sorry, my mistake, missed that specific point (luckily I have no concern myself about high-cost area pricing). Might the change from Market 1/2/3 to Market A/B (and the relative number of customers in each area) be the driving factor for this change?
Fingers still crossed for no general increase in Broadband pricing since I'm happy with Plusnet and don't want to have to go shopping elsewhere.

I could move to an LLU supplier such as Talk talk retail who are one of the LLU suppliers that have kit in my local market 1 exchange and get the broadband element for £3.99 per month as opposed to plusnets £17.99 which over time will save me a signifficant amount of money.
If after this price re-fresh plusnet are significantly more than talk talk, i will be off. im aware of talk talks poor reputation online , however the price plusnet charge in comparison is taking the proverbial.
Im also aware that some will blame offcom for this, and while offcom have a part to play, you would have thought the plusnet would have mode some more noise about this whole market 1/2/3 charade forcing them to pay BT wholsale more and as a result the costs are passed on to the end user.
As plusnet are a BT company liek openreach/wholesale etc the money all ends up at Bt in the end so the current system suits Plusnet and their masters at BT down to the ground.

I am also on a Market 1 exchange but pay nowhere near what you're paying and I am on unlimited. I did leave for Talk Talk but was back within 9 months!

not sure why I got the mobile calls option though one month some people in the house rang mobiles all the time and it cost us over £20 and again the following month (which was when I took the option) and since then I don't think a single mobile has been rung from the land line .....

As for phoning for a better deal, i dont want to be tied into something at a higher price for 12/18/whatever months if/when the new market A/B pricing kicks in and i could have been on a cheaper deal had I waited.
And for fibre, plusnet charge £26.99 for that, which would bump my monthly bill up to £46.48, annual cost £557.76 - Talk talk would be £34.45, £413.4 annual
current44 cost plusnet £37.48 monthly, or £449.76 over a year (ADSL/line rental/anytime calls) talk talk £24.95 per moth, £293.4 annually.
At the moment like for like Talk Talk are £156.36 cheaper over the space of a year.
If plusnet Raise their prices even further then I will be off like a shot.
Edit, it appears that I am still in contract with plusnet as despite the comments by a member of plusnet staff elsewhere on here

No they're not.
What they're saying is if you cease the line altogether then there's a charge (They're charged by BT and just passing it on), if you migrate to another provider i.e TT, there is no charge

The result of my negotiation with the COT team was a price for Unlimited that is lower than for Market 2/3. I did agree to a 24 month contract but, then again, I have always been happy with PlusNet's service and support.
In fact, I always negotiate new deals whether it's insurance, mobile, broadband, etc. Never been dissapointed yet

Looking at these threads: http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,126961.0.html and http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,125583.0.html it would seem that the cessation charge *is* payable when transferring to a LLU provider like TT or Sky...

Plusnet have always represented a good balance of value and service (for most at least), let's hope it stays that way.
