Re: Problem with HTML on [s]Bandwidth[/s] portal pages

Chris & Maurice,
Thank you for confirming I am not alone having the issue.

Bob,
I do not know if it is relevant, but I have accessed both residential and business accounts on this platform.
I did a search for "plus" in the IE TIF folder and I found I have the following cookies...

I also have usergroup,plus.net and webstats.plus.net but I doubt they have any relevance.

Re: Problem with HTML on [s]Bandwidth[/s] portal pages

Any progress on this please folks?
Note I see this on both my PC and iPad platforms.
Quote from: Bob
Logged into Kevin's account using IE 11 on a Windows 7 x64 machine and I was unable to replicate the problem, no reference to VAT in the source of this page whatsoever.
Same applies when I'm logged out.

Bob,
For clarity, it appears on portal pages when NOT logged into the portal.

Re: Problem with HTML on [s]Bandwidth[/s] portal pages

There's been no progress because we don't know what we're looking for. As previously advised, I am unable to replicate the problem. I'm loathe to hassle our web developers without being able to reliably replicate the issue.

Re: Problem with HTML on [s]Bandwidth[/s] portal pages

Hi Bob,
Do the differences in <header> code generated between a logged in and not logged in page give a clue?  Has a desk walk through of the code been considered?  I'm guessing the php stuffs different code into the header depending on ... whatever conditions it detects.
I can now confirm I see the problem on my iPhone too.  Each device has been used for residential and business accounts. Next week I hope to build a clean machine. Will do some tests to see if I can 'make' it happen.

Re: Problem with HTML on [s]Bandwidth[/s] portal pages

I can see the word VAT in the source at the place previously indicated if I set the plusnet_business cookie to any value whatsoever, e.g.
curl --cookie plusnet_business=false http://www.plus.net/support/service/network_performance/broadband_bandwidth_usage.shtml

Re: Problem with HTML on [s]Bandwidth[/s] portal pages

Way to go Sherlock!
Looks like it's the plusnet_business cookie then.
I've raised an internal problem to have one of our Web Developer take a look (ref: 83503).

Re: Problem with HTML on [s]Bandwidth[/s] portal pages

Bob,
Does the "presentation" of the member centre logon page have any bearing on this issue?
On all of the devices I have been using "for ages" to access the portal, the logon details present as three VERTICALLY arranged fields.  I thought this layout was changed some years ago.  On any device I have not previously used to access the portal, these fields are presented horizontally.
I am continuing tests on a virgin Win8 platform, which when upgraded to Win8.1 might be more usable....

Re: Problem with HTML on [s]Bandwidth[/s] portal pages

It's been tracked down to a change that was made aeons ago to the business header.

Thanks Bob,
I was initially able to see this problem displayed, but just checked and it does now appear to have been sorted.

Ditto.
Thank you Bob for the follow through and Scott and the team for the fix.
