I'm currently on the 40/2 fibre package and sync at the full 40000 down/2000 up. My attainable speeds are currently 50052 down/9123 up. What would be really great would be if Plusnet had an add-on for say £2.50 a month that switched you to the 40/10 fibre offering that is available from other ISPs so I wouldn't have to pay £5 extra to go on the 80/20 package. Is this something Plusnet would consider doing in the future ?
Indications are that at present they'd rather people who can't get 80/20 but want faster upload went to a different ISP so the chances of them add in a 40/10 option look slim.
Who is the optimist then - try nil The problem with offering 40/10 is that users like me who get 48/10 would almost certainly drop to the lower package so costing them money
and this is the reason why i've almost placed my order with Origin Broadband. not because they offer 40/20, but because they seem to be a more forward thinking company.
That's unfortunate. I think it would benefit a lot other users with similar line stats to me and maybe even reduce the numbers going to other ISPs at the end of their contract.
