Quote from: geofftswin Something's not right here - your profile from BT shows that you should receive higher speeds than you are getting.
To me that means that your router is syncing fine with the exchange and that the problem lies internally. What sort of network setting were you using with Onetel and are you using now with PN?
You couldn't be more wrong. There's been a significant number of users in here reporting that since around 8th December they have been getting abysmal speeds whilst still keeping a good IP Profile.
http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,81831.msg672189.html#msg672189 probably has a lot to do with it!

why can you not keep it up at this and i will be happy but to constantly suffer less than half a meg is a joke thats getting tiresome.
it proves my line will give me more than the silly not much faster than dial up speeds, the constant testing i've done to try and prove its not my equipment, nearly every day since joining you its been one round of try this and that.
I JUST WANT TO ENJOY BROADBAND LIKE I DID WITH MY OLD PROVIDER

A new year but no change with plusnet speed, sorry i lie the change is they are constantly lower since xmas, 3 months with this problem which only started since change of supplier test upon test, and no better off.
At this rate my years contract will be up and i will not be sorry to see the back of it, i have never had to check a broadband connection in all the years of using broadband with various companies and have been more than satisfied with their service.
I moved to increase speed from 2 meg not to much to ask when line 6meg capable, only to find i am worse off with speed not much faster then dialup at times.
another week or 2 like this and after 3 months of it i will be on the phone for a monthly discount for a inferior service.
