I don't know about the default noise margin as it is currently showing 12.6dB at 3264kbps which is a much higher speed than usual for that default noise margin and a 1.0am resync
The router resynched and the attenuation figures have changed
Before
Downstream 52dB Upstream 23.5dB
After
Downstream 50dB Upstream 21.5dB
Perhaps someone can explain that
Edit - DMT graph has changed and I am not sure how going to 21CN could do that unless the change included moving to a different line card in the exchange
Router log looks a bit odd as well (it doesn't run on BST hence the 1 hour error)
2nd Edit - can't run the BT speedtest either

Ticket ID is 33969955, thanks. I realise that eventually I'm going to have to move to 21CN but at the moment I'd rather wait until we get some better control over the DLM.

AFAIK you will have been moved to a new line card. Moving to 21CN ( even on ADSL1 ) still means moving your line from a DSLAM card to a MSAN card. Good news that the attenuation figures seems to have dropped though , one would perhaps expect a slight increase in attenuation as I understand that the MSAN's are further from the frame than the DSLAM.
Keep us posted on results of changeover, please.

As I am in the ten day training period I assume I shouldn't adjust the default noise margin

Not seen any sign of moving to 21CN ( I'm also on Value) with current 68 days uptime.

Quote Not sure how to check as it is set to auto(multimode) on my Netgear DG834G v4
Doesn't telneting in and using the 'adslctl info --show' command give the current mode Jim ?

Just noticed the attenuation has increased to 51dB
Edit - looks as though that was a side effect of the telnet usage on routerstats as the total errors reported by the router are negligible

Quote Mode: G.DMT
but then again, why would you expect to be on ADSL2 , your account is Value isnt it ?, therefore you've only been moved to ADSL1 on 21CN.
