Wasting my time and money... Engineer visit.

Today was expecting the engineer to install my fibre broadband. At this moment he is late 1 h 45 min (timeslot 1-6 pm). I accepted this appointment very reluctantly because this is the worst possible time to have to ask for time off work. To be sure visit is booked for today, I have given a call this morning (0345 140 0200) and written post here after I`ve had confirmation had went to my boss and asked him for off since 12:00. I wasted 7 hours of my life on my birthday (12-7 pm).
The earliest (weekday) date I can arrange to be at home is Friday 28th March (p.m.), at every other day I works between 7:15 am - 4:15 pm (except weekends).
I`ve got message at the midnight.

"Unfortunately, there's been a delay to the order for your telephone service.
We'll contact you again once we have more details about this."
Ohh rly?
