Re: What do you like/dislike about plus net?

I like when they send you weighty and threatening E-mails to you that your payment details are not in order while it is still has an expiration date of 31/12/2011.  Grin It's hilarious. Even if you have been paying for the last 11 years in time every month.

Plusnet are great. I'm not even a customer anymore, but still come to these forums to read a little. Nice community feel here. You will get great support here from the staff and other customers.

Re: What do you like/dislike about plus net?

I like the fact that since moving to plusnet for broadband and home phone both have never let me down, I like this forum for all manner of things, I dislike new members who say how crap everything here is without staying long enough to find out the truth and get to the bottom of there problem. How long on average does it take to have a ticket dealt with? I mean to completion rather than just acknowledged? It seems pretty decent to get through on the phone so thought I'd ask about the tickets

That depends when you raise one, Either way they tell you roughly how long it will take for your ticket to be answered when you raise one.

Good things:
1. Customer service great (but always telephone Sheffield).
2. VFM great - I love my broadband and it is perfect for my needs. Fast enough for me and has hardly ever let me down.
3. Forum - like it ++++ - lots of useful advice (would never have got into Linux had it not been for the 'Nix lads). Like the chitchat specially when there is something interesting or funny to talk about.
4. Referral system good.
Bad thing:
1. Don't have home phone anymore. It was great having everything together but got a better deal with BT and was really fed up with all the billing mix ups. I hope that this is now all sorted out.
2. We used to have an open day and now we don't. It was very enjoyable meeting all the staff and having a gander at what goes on at the Towers.  Sad

Re: What do you like/dislike about plus net?

A recurring theme in the forums is the time taken to answer tickets, and in my own experience it is likely to be days rather than hours. Certainly very different to when I migrated in summer 2008.
As every other aspect of this ISP is so good, it's not really a serious issue for me.
A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine

Re: What do you like/dislike about plus net?

well i'm new to these parts, but quite frankly the only way they could be worse than my old provides is if they cut me off,
so far i like the way that the tech support team seen to actually know what i want rather than me having to give them a lecture im how adsl works (amazing but true, i actually had to explain to one of the "tech support" guys at my old isp about target snr's) speeds are good, its reliable, only downside i can see is the violent traffic shaping im the evenings, but at least your up front about it, and i understand why its necessary

A measure of service is how they respond when things go wrong. Just pray that Plusnet never overcharge you because you will wait a long time to get the money refunded.

and it not that they take a long time to repay but that it takes even longer to sort it out
