Re: What's going on with PN?

chandu,
As mentioned I'd go back to the test socket for now we just need to try and prove if the issue is indeed with the master socket as we think it might be. I appreciate if you have any concerns about exposed wires but they should not pose a great danger to anyone. I mention this mainly as there has been a few drops since you mentioned reconnecting to the master socket.

Re: What's going on with PN?

Hi Adam,
Thanks for your response.  The time now is 16:30 and I will remove the plate off the master socket and connect the router to the Test socket in next few minutes.
I will post the changes on this thread.  Do I update my ticket?
Regards,
Chandu.

Re: What's going on with PN?

Hi Adam,
This evening I had an email from SCS informing me that the issue appears to have been sorted.  Is not it a bit too early bearing in mind that I had a disconnection early this morning even (approx. 06:00 Hours) connected to the test socket?  I will stay connected to the test socket until you say otherwise.
However, I have a Open Reach's NTE5's filtered face plate (with separate filtered router and telephone outlets).  Do you think I should use that faceplate when we are  finish with the testing through the test socket?
I await your expert guidance.
Regards,
Chandu.

Re: What's going on with PN?

Hi there Chandu,
Upon looking at your account and your connection logs I would agree with the CSC.
We do regard an intermittent connection as one that drops more than 6 times within a 72 hour period, this is mainly as a few drops in connectivity can be perfectly normal.
With regards to the NTE5, that does sound like a good idea. If possible can you let us know before you install it just so I can have a quick look and compare how your connection performs against being connected straight into the test socket.

Re: What's going on with PN?

Just to let you all know that the constant disconnection problems I experienced with Plusnet over five years have now stopped. The solution? I moved to Sky Broadband. No disconnections and no broken promises. I'm so pleased I finally took the courage to move. Highly recommend it. Even getting faster speeds with no disconnections!!

Re: What's going on with PN?

Hi Sea138,
Have you tried their Customer Service?  I have.  I would not recommend Sky even if it was the last ISP on this earth.
With PlusNet, the customer service has been the best I have encountered.  They have made me aware of lot of things which I was not told about by my previous ISP (a Sky Subsidiary).  So, please don't run PN down in manner you are doing.
PN Service has been fantastic and top notch and all the staff should be given a pat on the back.
Regards,
Chandu.

Hi Adam,
Thanks for the help.
By the way, looking at the picture, is that our fancy dress or have changed your appearance permanently? Grin
Best wishes from,
Chandu.

Re: What's going on with PN?

lol, no problem. As you may guess its a Simpsons styled version of me, even though it is a caricature it's a fairly accurate depiction Smiley
