Question: - When is a contract not a contract ?
Answer: - When your router has a problem 0ne & a half months before its due to be renewed/finish and you then have to pay for a new one to be sent out.
The strange bit is that I thought a contract lasted till the last day of the agreement between both parties. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be the case with PlusNet, which is a shame because until now I've never had an issue.

Free Plusnet routers come with a twelve month guarantee from new. After that you are on your own unless you negotiate a new deal that includes one. So the question has to be how long is it since they supplied the device, not how far are you through your current contract,

There are many cast-off Hub 1's available on fleabay, quite cheaply.

Slightly off subject but why buy a hub 1 if hub 6 is available on ebay ?
Having gone from a hub 1 from PN which was excellent I moved to a hub 6, did not notice any additional increase in signal strength but the claim is that a Hub 6 is more secure and has an additional channel ?

Quite true - but I have no experience of any of the Hubs and presumably a replacement Hub 1 might possibly be offered free of charge if the OP were to take out a fresh contract in a few weeks time.

Hi there,
I've just checked your account @TheElk and it looks like we've provided a new router today but have only charged you for postage and packing fees.
