@Jameseh
I'm currently on the phone to my referral. He has misinformed me - he hasn't been disconnected,
all his modem lights come on green.
Sorry for that - ignore my previous post.

Thanks.
I mentioned earlier that his circuit was showing as a ceased asset the the staff I was speaking to at BT Wholesale. They've cancelled the circuit and have placed a provide (ie: not a migration) order. The Team Leader that I have spoken with at BTW has got back in touch to let me know that he has expedited the order and is hopeful that it will complete on Monday.

Ok!
In which case everything I said above was probably wrong too! They are expediting the order though and it should still complete on Monday.

@Jameseh
I just got him to do another M-labs speed test
C2S 707kbps
S2C 2.4Mbps
i.e. now a serviceable line for that undercapacity 21CN exchange, as opposed to his previous typical S2C of 720kbps
someone at BT seems to be doing something. I still don't understand the >448kbps upstream rate.

He's on an ADSL2+ service with BT.
Upstream *should* be better than 448Kbps.

except that he was getting >448kbps upstream with his old Alcatel Speedtouch 330 USB modem - which does
not support ADSL2[+]. Hence my confusion. Is there a deployed ADSL 1 (G.DMT) product where some of the
downstream bins are reconfigured as upstream bins ? That seems to be the only way you would get >448.

Not sure I'm afraid!
Just received confirmation that the order should complete on Monday.
